Our Amazon adventure begins with a scenic boat journey along the Tambopata River to Ñape Lodge, located in the heart of the Tambopata National Reserve, home of the Ese Eja native community.

Discover unique wildlife spectacles and experience daily life in an Ese Eja community farm along the Tambopata River.

• Observation of parrots and macaws feeding on mineral-rich clay

• Two-hour guided hike through forest trails to the Mammal Clay Lick
• Observation of mammals such as deer, monkeys, birds, and other wildlife
• Boat ride to a local Ese Eja family farm (chacra)
• Visit and explanation of native fruits, crops, and traditional uses
• Sampling of seasonal fruits (depending on availability)

After breakfast, we begin our return journey along the Tambopata River.

The tour includes river transportation, accommodation at Ñape Lodge, all meals during the program, guided activities, visits to natural attractions, wildlife observation, and cultural experiences with the Ese Eja community.
Ñape Lodge is located along the Tambopata River within the Tambopata National Reserve, in the Madre de Dios region, and is owned and managed by the native Ese Eja community of Infierno.
You may observe macaws, parrots, toucans, monkeys, caimans, capybaras, river otters, deer, and with some luck, elusive species such as jaguars or pumas, especially during night excursions along the Tambopata River.
The tour involves moderate activities such as forest walks, boat rides, and short hikes. Most activities are suitable for travelers with an average level of fitness.
Travelers will learn about traditional hunting techniques, visit a local family farm (chacra), explore the ethnobotanical garden, and gain insight into the ancestral knowledge, customs, and daily life of the Ese Eja people.
