Trip Summary

09:00 AM. Pick up from your hotel in Miraflores or San Isidro. We begin our journey heading south of Lima, with an approximate travel time of 45 minutes. Upon arrival, we visit the Pachacamac Site Museum, located within the Pachacamac Sanctuary. The museum houses a collection of more than 6,500 registered pieces made of ceramics, wood, plant material, metal, and textiles, with about 290 on display. Among its most iconic treasures is the Idol of Pachacamac. Continuing our tour, we explore the Acllahuasi, or “Temple of the Virgins of the Sun,” a sacred enclosure where women chosen for their manual skills, culinary abilities, or beauty lived and worked in service of the State. We also walk along the Qhapaq Ñan or Great Inca Road, an impressive network of over 25,000 kilometers of pathways that once connected Cusco with the vast territories of the Inca Empire. After visiting the sacred enclosures in the lower section, we ascend a ramp that leads us to the imposing Temple of the Sun. Built of adobe and decorated with traces of red paint, it is the largest solar temple on the Peruvian coast and represents a monumental effort of organization and construction. Finally, we board our transportation to return to Lima. End of the tour.
